THAN JUST A SHOP
Greetings! I'm John Teeter, founder and owner of GT Imports Limited. The beginning of GT Imports really started at the local Honda dealership, when my future business partner and I met. Jim and I were known for high productivity and quality in our work. It was there at the dealer that we both realized we had the same passion to provide the next level of customer service that wasn't currently available in the Winston-Salem area. On December 7th, (Pear Harbor Day), 1989, GT Imports was incorporated. The attorney and her secretary, after hearing our story and business plan, became our first customers even before our lights were turned on. With a simple belief and attention to detail, factory engineered parts, and a deep abiding respect for the engineering that Honda instilled within each vehicle, Jim and I went to work. Our claim to fame truly was and is helping our customers. It's the reason behind all the hard work, long hours, and toil that it takes to get a car right. Every day it wasn't about the money, it was about integrity and serving the highest good and providing the highest value to each and every customer. That means at times, you must un-sell work which wouldn't benefit a client or a family. It took five years to make the move which brought us to Commercial Park Court in Clemmons. We custom built the building from scratch exclusively to work on Honda and Acura vehicles. Over the years we've added staff, the latest in tools, equipment, and software, and expanded our quality to Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, and Kia. Today, we still operate with that same passion and drive for excellence in every repair we make, knowing that your family is riding in that car. John opened GT Imports thirty-six years ago. His dedication to our customer's experience is what created GT into the hallmark of customer service that it is today. He has forty-five years of experience in the industry and enjoys serving the needs of each individual that walks through our doors. He has two grown children, Johnny and Sabrina, who both worked in the shop over the years, and five step-children. His legacy is in the relationship-based customer service and our five-star reviews all over the internet.
Chad Lomax
GENERAL SERVICE MANAGER
Chad is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a committed manager. He has worked in the automotive industry off and on for thirty-three years, having an Automotive Diploma from Davidson-Davie Community College. In his time away from the industry, Chad has been a school teacher of business, math, and health in both Lexington and Randolph Counties and an athletics director. Chad has a degree in accounting and business management. Besides working, Chad spends time with his beautiful wife, Leslie, his two kids, and his pride and joy, his grandson, his pride and joy. He is always looking forward to football season!
Farrah Brinegar
SERVICE ADVISOR
Ferra first began learning about the automotive industry from her husband. She has about thirty-four years of working in customer service. She was born and raised in Winston-Salem, having lived in Clemmons for twenty-six years, where she raised her son. Ferra loves her job at GT Imports and is always a happy presence in the front lobby. "There's never a dull moment," she states. "There is a great atmosphere here, I never dread coming to work. I love coming to work." Her positive attitude is seen in everything she does, including her thorough cleaning system within the shop.
MEET JUDAH, OUR SHOPCAT!
GT Imports hasn't always had an animal mascot, but this year we are proud to present Judah, our GT Shopcat! The Teeter family adopted Judah in July, 2024, when she was about six weeks old. Since her arrival with the family, Judah showed a love of travel and adventure, her favorite place in the world being in between the two front seats of a car. Judah's sassy and sweet personality is contagious to everyone around her, bringing tides of fun wherever she goes. Judah mostly hangs around Eliana, her owner and our office assistant, upstairs, but we do enjoy bringing her down to say hello to our employees and customers. Maybe next time you are in for a car service, Judah will say hello to you!
